Exciting Projects

I'm thankful for so many things in my career, but the one thing I'm most appreciative of is that I can use my position to try to help others. Over the last year I've had the pleasure to work with and get to know the good people who run Lakay Pam - an organization dedicated to helping children in Haiti meet their most basic needs. Over the next few months I'll have some exciting news to announce with regards to how I'm going to work with them further. Until then, please enjoy this video we made at the last Lakay Pam benefit I was privileged to host:

Another matter I'm passionate about is helping girls deal with body image issues and self esteem. I'm very happy to announce that I've partnered up with Seventeen magazine to join their Body Peace Council. Along with Serena Williams, Amber Riley, Whitney Port and Katherine Schwarzenegger I will be regularly writing for Seventeen magazine on body image and health topics.  To see my first blog for them click HERE and stay tuned for more...

XOXO COCO

That's wonderful!! We girls need to hear more about the realities of being a model. Keep 'em coming, Coco! You're the best.

Coco, I just read the article on Seventeen's website and your words are incredible. I think every girl needs to read this and realize how true this are...

As Miss Deaf South Africa & 2nd Runner-Up at the Miss Deaf International this year, everywhere I've been going, people think I'm 'perfect' and it's sometimes so hard to prove it otherwise to them.

Keep it up, Coco!

"We all need to remember that a photo is just what beauty was to one photographer on one day."

Very true. It's hard to find a universal standard of beauty, let alone someone who physically embodies that.

Hi Coco, I just read your blog post at Seventeen and am so happy to know that there are girls like you out there keeping it together, maintaining perspective and advocating for health and wellness. I met you on Friday at the Greta Constantine show and the most beautiful thing about you was how humble you were - your kindness to meet me, and take a photo together, and just being a sweet and courteous person. Of course you're gorgeous and looked fantastic with your hair and make up done, but you have such a wonderful personality and that is the thing that makes you the most beautiful. So thanks for being awesome, and helping young women see their true worth!

You are so inspiring Coco. Thank you for again reminding us that we are all beautiful in our own way and we all have something to offer to the world. Sometimes we get so tied up in the world's image of beauty; thanks for putting things back into perspective.

Great Post! :)
It's very true! I can't wait to read more of what you write in the future! I just find it very hard to help/have people find a balance, healthy happy living is a must! And of course, never changing for people is a fantastic key to achieving that!

This post is so inspirational!
It's good to see celebs making a difference/getting involved in charity and being a model, talking about body confidence is definitely a BIG thing!
Good luck with everything and keep it up!

Coco, thank you for sharing these thoughts with us and especially to young girls aspiring to be models who are insecure about themselves.

You've obviously discovered that true happiness comes from helping others in need.

So glad to hear that you are so grounded Coco. Many people lose themselves in the power of their fame. You seemed to have found who you are & the difference you can make! You're parents must be so proud of you!

Your post was very real and honest - good job! Maybe you guys should do one of those "untouched" photo shoots to show girls what reality is.

It would be a terrible waste to have a platform such as yours and not use it to inspire, inform and nurture others.

I think that you are just wonderful!
