Shop Till You Drop

You know what is more tiresome then going to the gym? Going shopping! I can't stand it, especially if I don't know what I'm looking for. You can ask any of my friends, they will confirm that I hate shopping and I bet you they will say they hate shopping with me!
I know, I know as a model I should only want to shop. For some reason I become exhausted. Today I was shopping out here in Aussie Land with Boxing Day Sales, and I could not stop yawning. I think I could run a marathon and have more energy than when I go shopping. People what is my problem!!!!!

P.S. I bought NOTHING!!!

It's probably from being around all of that apparel and merch so much. I probably would hate it too... actually I'm not sure at all. But I hated shopping as a kid. Receiving toys were sooo much better than receiving clothes for christmas. Maybe you're just young at heart? :) Hope you had an AWESOME christmas!

Oh, and BTW, the word verification for this wants me to type sesseend. HAHA.

You seem like so much fun to be around with! Love your idea of having a blog.

I'm quite the opposite though. I can walk around forever when I'm (window) shopping and I won't even notice. But with the crowds of people shopping especially this Christmas time, it does get tiring.

Hope you could post pictures/videos of you more because you are such a delight to watch! =)

I love walking around a shopping mall and not buying anything. It's all distracting and interesting to make me forget I'm walking around in a circle, but otherwise I don't enjoy shopping, unless I know EXACTLY what I want.

Guess it must be the crowded shopping areas that make you feel like that. I haven't even done my Christmas shopping because of the crowds!

I hate shopping when I must stay in crowd.

i kinda forgot about all the boxing day sale chaos and ended up in central sydney... all i can say is that some of those parents should be fined for cruelty to children! there was barely born babies being shipped about in the horrible crowds... i came away with nothing as well... oh well

dahh coco, were you at bondi junction? the boxing day sales there were crap as today

...the thing about shopping is....all the OTHER people shopping too! *haha!* First you fight through crowds, looking for what you need (or want), get undressed and dressed again multiple times trying stuff on, then wait in LINE...it can be like swimming upstream!

Hmmm it's prolly because you're surrounded by exquisite clothes and accessories on a daily basis, that's why you've somewhat outgrown shopping.

Anyway, I love shopping during sale periods. Nothing is more exciting than getting gorgeous stuff on a bargain!! :)

Window shopping is my fave sport-- well other than swimming.. but how can you not buy anything? *gasp* hehe.. although, I never really buy anything in the malls anymore.. Makes me feel guilty.

haha, i have the same problem sometimes. hope you're enjoying christmas holidays in aus!

I completely agree. Browsing stores online seems much less exhausting, possibly because things are more organized and easier to find. :-)

I absolutely agree. Sometimes shopping seems to be really annoying, especially when you NEED something, have something in your mind, LOOK for it or something similar and find NOTHING - ahhh.

And shopping before Christmas is soooo exhausting. Actually I wanted to go shopping on saturday, but decided to go rather on monday, because of empty shops - and what happened? I absolutely forgot that it was the first day of holidays... :D

Miss Rocha, I understand you.
I go out and back home with nothing.
If I really want sth I just go to a shop and buy it, but I don't like to go shop by shop,it's so boring.
hope you have had a great Christmas.
Greetings from Chile

I really need to be in the *right* mood for shopping. And I prefer to go alone so I can really have the time to myself ;) heh happy boxing day!

I am right there with you, whenever my friends and I go shopping, we end up lounging at a café. I need to be looking for something specific, like here the other day, I was looking for a pastel dress with a big black bow, I got nowhere, so I gave up. I ended up at Kong Kaffe where I got myself a nice latte.

But for some odd reason, I like window shopping and when I find something and I have more than a coin on me, then it is just a lucky day, si.

I only like shopping when I have money. I can't stand window shopping! I always see something and then moan about having no money for the next day.

Coco I have the same problem. Like when I go to metrotown. or even like downtown on robson street.
hate it hateeeeeee it.

I hate it too but I'm a guy, that menas it's ten times weirder in your case. I used to like it a lot because I thought it was cool and everyone was doing it with so much passion. But I always get so tired after an hour or so and I really just need like one look into each store and I can already tell that I'm done.

This is why I prefer shopping on my own because I don't waste a lot of time. If you don't like it either try to avoid it and maybe you will miss something. Or go somewhere where you can get food. I recommend Ikea too because there are many places to relax.

:) Merry belated christmas Coco and I can't wait for the upcoming editorials you shoot/shot with Meisel. He always brings the best about everyone.

You may just be ranting but here's some suggestions anyway:

Make sure you bring an apple or a banana and water so that you can snack so that you don't get get cranky because you're hungry.

Make a list based on upcoming events and shop for outfits to wear to them.

Only shop for investment pieces so you won't be tempted to buy trendy throw-away stuff.

Try to make the sales people laugh because they probably need one or two after dealing with hardcore crazy bargain hunters.

If you don't find anything just get some ice cream and people watch and then be glad you saved your money so that you can buy your mom something.

This is nutty: Since you're a model, I super duper dare you to go up to people and asked them if they would like their new clothes modeled by a pro. And then you can post the pics! And they can tell their families things like, "Coco Rocha tried on my knickers!" or "Coco Rocha put lipstick stains on my shirt!" or "That Coco, she's such a sweet nut!"

i am totally the same. i didn't buy a single thing during boxing day sales, and my husband got a whole outfit! i spent my share of money on... food.

pfft. maybe i should be the husband... :p

and it was soooo crowded! in this hot weather!

hope your ozzie days are great though :)

I'm the same - can't staaaaaaaand shopping. I can spend days and not buy a thing.

I think part of the problem, for me at least, is that I veto everything before I try it. Start grabbing things indiscriminately and trying them on - it helps!

By the way, the red looks good, but have you considered a more maroon kind of red? It would be a nice contrast to your fair complexion!

I hate shopping too. It gets old like after 5 minutes in my case. Plus, all the clothes look pretty much hideous here.

sometimes I just am not in "shopping mode" - I'll go most times but I probably won't find anything in that mind set.

i actually love shopping, but if i do it for more than an hour i get an extremely bad headache. perhaps my mind cant take all fabulous things i cant afford...

Anonymous said...

hahah you didn't buy anything? lol.

I'm totally like you except that usualy I go shop when I actually have something to buy. But as I'm someone who knows excatly what she wants, it's awfull to shop when I need/want something because I never find what I want. So, after 2/3 shop I come back home saying: I hate shop, I never find what I want and of course with Nothing!! Now, if I go shop when I just feel good and wanna be nice with myself, I manage to find something I fall in love! lol
These days I want some motar/grungy boots but it's sill summer time so I can't find it in any shop grrrr! For that reason too I try to look at the collection on internet to see if maybe I could find what I want in the shop in my city. That makes my shopping life much easier!!
Have a nice week Coco.
